916 Estate Sales · 916estatesales.com© 916 Estate SalesHow gross and net totals work
Your printed report shows a gross total and a net total. The gross total includes sales tax and card fees collected from shoppers. Those amounts are excluded before the commission split. The remaining net sale total is divided between you and 916 Estate Sales at the agreed commission rate.
A simple net-sales example
If net sales are $10,000 after excluding collected sales tax and shopper-paid card fees, a 45% commission is $4,500 and your share is $5,500. At 50%, the commission and your share are $5,000 each. Any haul-away service needed after donation is charged separately. This example explains the split; it is not a forecast for your property.
What your commission includes
Labor, staging, photography, advertising, and sale management are included in our commission. There is no upfront cost to the client. We confirm the agreed commission rate, schedule, and plan for remaining items in writing before work begins.
Your sales report
We use Square, our point-of-sale system, to record sales by category. After the sale, you receive a printed report showing category totals, cash and card payment totals, and gross and net totals. The net sales total is the basis for the commission split, so you can follow the figures used to calculate your share.
When proceeds are paid
Our clients can receive proceeds as soon as three days after the sale. Confirm the actual payment schedule, method, and accounting you will receive in your agreement. Do not assume the earliest possible timing is guaranteed for every project.
The only separate estate sale service charge
After donation, any remaining items that need haul-away can be removed as a separate service. Haul-away after donation is our only additional estate sale service charge. We discuss the scope and cost with you so you can decide whether to use it.
